San Felipe Hike and Cave Exploration
Your hike begins as you step into the jungle behind a local farm. Your guide will point out unusual plants and animals along the way, and maybe find a cahoon nut for you to sample. After twenty minutes or so the path turns uphill and to the nearly hidden mouth of Dry Cave. Your guide will point out the remnants of old archeological dig and tell you some lore about local Maya sites before distributing headlamps and leading you into the cave.
As you head deep into the mountainside, you will encounter unusual creatures like the harmless whip scorpion and tiny plants that grow with no sunlight. Keep your eyes open, and maybe you will find some ancient Mayan pottery.
