We are situated in the heartland of the Maya. The remnants of this once thriving civilization are all around us. We offer trips to excavated ruins and with sufficient notice can arrange permission to visit the site of a rarely visited relatively unexplored ruin first.
Climb the stairs to this shady site and learn about the ‘Mayan Ball Game’ which was played in several stone ball courts there. This site has been well-excavated, and your guide will show you opened tombs and explain the burial rites of the ancient Maya. Examine the many carved stelae which still stand or have fallen at these ruins, and return to the site’s museum for explanations of the ancient carvings which decorate them.
