The peaceful seclusion of Cotton Tree Lodge makes it the perfect venue for your next yoga retreat - the place to go if you’re looking to get off the grid and off the beaten path. Unlike more frequented beach destinations such as Tulum or Puerto Rico, the Toledo District of Belize offers pristine jungle, unparalleled natural beauty and wildlife, and opportunities to connect with the Mayan culture which is still very alive to this day. We will work with you to customize a package that includes the perfect balance of practice, relaxation and exploration. Come share with your students what reviewers call “heaven on earth” and “the most beautiful and inspiring week of my life”!
We have custom built the entire top floor of our brand-new Garden Vista building for yoga. Constructed with all-natural materials, this 24’ x 32’ room-with-a-view is available to yoga guests 24/7. Cotton Tree Lodge is proud to provide authentic Mexican blankets and locally made blocks and straps.
At Cotton Tree Lodge we serve only the freshest foods sourced as locally as possible. Breakfast includes seasonal fruits such as papaya, pineapple and mangoes, lunches feature goat cheese made from the milk of our own herd, and dinners include fish caught by local fishermen that same morning. Our kitchen is more than happy to customize a meal plan for your group, and is also happy to accommodate guests’ dietary restrictions.
Far away from crowds and tourists, our lodge offers endless opportunities to de-stress and re-connect with yourself and with nature. Awaken to the sounds of birds and monkeys, spend the morning lounging in your hammock, take a dip in the Moho River in the afternoon, and meditate in the gazebo before dinner. There’s lots to do on our 100 acre property, but what’s the rush? You’re here to retreat!
Our itineraries are completely customizable, so you can find the balance of relaxation and activities that are right for your guests. Yoga groups can plan to do activities together throughout the week, or leave it up to the individual to schedule tours as they desire. Off-site excursions include visits to Mayan ruins, waterfall and cave swimming, bean-to-bar chocolate workshops, visits to local farms and much more.
Cotton Tree Lodge partners with the Central American non-profit organization Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) to offer day-long service projects targeted at providing farming families with the training and tools to preserve tropical forests while overcoming poverty. In addition to the satisfaction of helping others, working side-by-side with SHI families is a great way learn about the cultures and communities of southern Belize.
